If you're shooting throughout Hicksville, Tennessee then no one will give a shit. If you're shooting in downtown Wall Street, you'll need permission.

Beautifully put, and I second that advice. Try to avoid busy streets and private property.

I don't know if this is true in the U.S. or the U.k. but does anyone know if you have to have a permit to film in public?
In case you plan to be there shooting for a while.
Anyone know if this is true in the uk or the us?
IK also hear that if you're a student you can get them for free.

I live in Kentucky, combination of Hicksville Tennessee and Wall Street.
I haven't had any problems with filming a dacumentary but I don't know if there was a scene in which they were chasing someone.
One time I was watching Letterman and they had this scetch they were filming with a guy chasing this oher guy in New YOrk, and some dude fucking knocked on of the guys down because he thought the guy was trying to mug the other guy in the sketch.
