Hi, I have a short movie and I've outputted it back to DV tape. Does anyone know how to burn it onto DVD so as that it boots up automatically in your DVD player?

When you say outputted back to DV tape, did you edit on your computer? If so, then your movie is already on your computer, and if you have a DVD burner, it will come with software telling you how to burn DVDs.

Do you need it to be DVD? Because VCD is a-hell-of-a-lot cheaper to start with.

and you'll learn the basics of mastering video discs, before you get in over your head with DVDs, structured menus, etc...

also consider pricing: average CD-R is less than a quid (probably get them about 20p) and the average DVD-R is around ?30.

I would be a VCD makin fool it the burning proggies would recognize my freckin HP burner

try the demo of Nero ... it is the BEST, and it will author VCD 2.0 complaint disks to boot!

Yeah use either Nero or DiscJuggler...
Most ripping sites recommend them.

As for not recognising your CD Burner, try installing an ASPI Layer patch on your machine... that usually does the trick. Just do a Google search for more info about it.
