Personally, I use blank-firing replicas with 8mm blanks. I remember when we needed to use blank rounds and so I got one of the crew to stand about where the gun would be fired from with the cast on their positions, thinking they were ready for the gunshot.
Without exception, they all jumped a mile. Even the security guards were surprised. They learned an important lesson - guns are loud. I learned a lesson - never ask your sound engineer to fire the gun, especially if the macho twat won't wear ear-plugs...

hey jo, you rule by the way.
I just love the feelin' of firing off blank rounds, makes me feel like a real man again. Especially after the operation, darn those doctors.
