I have several scenes in my movie that I want to put music or "sound track" in. But hearing from others on your site it seemes you can't. I am planing to sell copies of it. Can you get permision to use some ones music or something or someting?

If you want to stay legal, there are two routes you can take - either get somebody to write and record some original music for your film (not as expensive as you might think - I am a film composer and will work for peanuts if I'm not busy!) or get some "copyright free" music, which you should be able to find advertised in any video-making magazine. Check the small print on the "copyright free" music though, as some companies still don't like you selling copies of your film with their supposedly copyright free music in it.

Oh, I misunderstood your question. If there is a particular song that you like and you want to use, the only thing you can do is get in touch with the publishers of that song (there should be a contact address or website address somewhere on the packaging of the CD) and ask their permission. They will probably either refuse or offer you a standard deal ($10,000 per minute or something ridiculous) but if you explain your situation maybe they will give you a break and let you use the track.

    Talking

Hey, the best way is to contact the music label themselves. I want to use a track by Lunatic Calm in my film and I sent an e-mail to them, I explained that I was a student with no-budget what-so-ever and they replied and said "cool, you can use the track, good luck with the film"!!!!
Just contact them and try, you never know
