dogme?

what does everyone think of the dogme manifesto...?
i know most of the rules, but what are they in full? has/will anyone made a dogme film?
what do you think about the rules? restricting film-makers, or increasing the importance of characters, and plot rather than style?

I think shooting "Dogme-style" is great if your story lends itself to that sort of shooting. But what is Dogme really? Nothing that new and innovative. Documentary filmmakers have been shooting that rough, cinema verite style for years. Von Trier and Vinterburg applied it to narrative filmmaking...providing some interesting results. But I also think it's become somewhat of a gimmick to garner press and festival attention (nothing wrong with that, however....you do what you gotta do to make it in this business). I'll be shooting my short film IMMACULATE this March/April in a Dogme influenced style. It's deals with emotional instability between a couple. The Dogme look will certainly help convey their uneasiness. But you know only feature films can be Dogme certified. Perhaps that makes mine Pupme. Most of us do it dogma style anyway. I think the rules are realy for seasoned professionals so that they can "get back to nature". What I don't like are beginner filmmakers who make a dogma film just because they are too lazy to use lights, tripods, etc.

dogme,
any way u can get it on screen,if it makes sence then dogme,undergroud filmaking isnt dogme,filmaking is art,but angles and effects
mean shit,if your characters are bloks of wood,---dogme,running around with a 8mm,is still art,news is dogme,and we all watch it
