I am trying to make my videos a reasonable size for uploading to the net. But they are huge. ie. a 1 minute clip saved as a 250 X 188 quicktime movie is over 50MB.

I am using Adobe premier. I've tried a couple of different compressors, and a couple of different formats, please let me know what is the best way to do this.

Cinepak or Sorenson Video, either that or just play with them, remember you can compress your sound and lower the frame rate to get the size of your file down.

I am not sure how this would work or even if it would help, so be careful and think it through before taking a try at it.
But I read somewhere about compressing by E-mailing yourself something.
NOTE: I JUST LOST A LOT OF WORK BY sending a file to itself on a RW cd.

The DivX codec is the best one around for the internet at the moment.

Theres a freeware program called Virtual Dub that you can use to compress the video and sound. It also can compress the audio into a mp3 which will save a hell of a lot of space
