Hi guys.
Question about lights. I went to a photo shop and asked for a 1000 Watt light to light people on video/film. The guy there asked me to hand him in excess of 200 pounds. Mhm... no thanks.
What about the bog standard 1000 Watt ones you get for 20 quid. Apparently they don't have a constant light temperature, but does it really show? And if I shoot black and white then it doesn't matter really does it?

Yeah if your shooting black and white just use anything. I sometimes use the small halogen desk lamps and they look great. Anything goes. Take a look at Chance's site....he used bloody chinese lanterns.....now that shows thought.
Since your shooting B+W colour temperature doesnt enter the equation.

Ill second that. Unless colour matching is important to you, (and its not with B/W) then use anything to get an exposure.
Ive used evrything from car headlights, to portable stage lights to burning torches to 90 watt desk lamps and they all look fine (in black and white)

Death Blooms like a night rose, but once in a great while, but when it does this is pure beauty........ Beaten was he by his own inside evil, unseen were his bruises........Unseen were his imperfections and his beauty......unseen was his life to all
Not too Shabby, eh?
