This board has always been skewed towards video even thought it says "Film-Maker's" in the title.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nigel wrote this in the "The back story of the board regulars" thread. The word film has more than one definition. One of them is a "motion picture". A movie, regadless of what is was shot on, is a film.

And if you really wanted to be technical - I don't think any of us are actually film-makers. Kodak, on the other hand, are actually film makers. Fuji - they are film makers.

I have never in my life actually constructed film, although I have made movies. I have made a film.

You are correct Fuji and Kodak are film-makers.

This is why when people ask what I do I say that I make movies--If they want details I tell them that I sit behind a camera.

I have no real big issue with Videographers saying that they make movies but I do take a little issue when they say that they are going out to "Film" a movie.

Call me an Elitist Film SOB that is fine. I shoot 99% of my work on it so fuck it I can be a Film-Only snob if I want. NAH NAH NAH . It doesn't really come across just right when you read it.

Good Luck

Nigel,
Be a film snob all you want, I'm with you 210%!!!
I know this is sappy but There's just something about seeing those cans at the end of the day, and feeling the excitement of tommarow- Chilling out and knowing how you nailed "the money shot"...
or that majical feeling you get, when you sit in the theater for your first premeire- watching in amazment at what's on the screen in front of you...
Now don't get me wrong -I've shot my fair share of video, but nothing comes close to that feeling of film.
