<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sounds like you should definately do some research.

How many War films are there already. Your research might offer a new perspective or an un told story (look at the Pianist) instead of just basing the history on war films you've seen.

Right now your story of how the idea came to you is more interesting (from a writing POV) than the war story.

The war should only be backdrop to an empathetic character or story. Right now you seem to be just doing a war movie for the sake of it. It may end up a good screenplay, but its a bad 'pitch'.

Tell me if you like it..
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't see the point in this...

I'd agree it wasn't a great pitch, but even so it doesn't make it an inevitable poor script. You need to write at least a treatment and get a deeper idea of character and story before asking; 'do you like it?' What difference does our opinion make at this point?

If you were baking a cake would you ask us to taste the flour and eggs to see if we liked it? [ I'm quite proud of that analogy ]
