Hi! My name is Emily. I am from Chicago, and I have just recently started to get into this crazy film thing. My husband just bought a miniDV camera and i was wondering if anyone here could tell me why my footage doesn't look as good as some of the movies i see. I mean I know there is something diffrent, but what is it? And is there a way i can get my video to look like that? Thanks a bunch [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

well the stuff youre talking about might of been shot on cameras costing 3 times as much money, but i think one of the main factors is lighting... you gotta have good lighting to get the best out of DV cams becos the way they are made is that they give as high res a movie as possible with the downside being you need loads of light or the picture quality goes bad.

The beloved one is correct. It's all in the lighting. Check this out http://nick.ianstorm.com/bumpers/Wizards3.mov
This was done on a Sony VX2000 miniDV camera. So they can look pretty cool with the right lighting.
