Hello guys and gals.
Can you help me? I really want a camera that can shoot in the 24fps mode, but I can't afford the cannon DV. Is there something out there cheaper? It would take me years to save up for the cannon.

Buy a super-8 camera. they shoot in many film speeds, single frame, time-lapse, 9, 12, 18, 24, 32, 45, 54, etc.

Sorry, the only ones out there are the new Panasonic DX100 and.....well, that's all. And it's around 3k. Save your money, or get something cheaper that you can practice your craft with in the meantime.

I agree with the above. And as much as I love Super8, don't use that to practice with. It'll kill you financially with the costs of stock and processing, plus you'll have to wait for processing etc...
I go with getting a cheap miniDV cam to play around with. You can also get some cheap editing software if you've got a PC then you can practice to your heart's content and all that. PLay around with filters etc to get a more 'film' look if thats what you're after.
