If Hollywood Remade Play Dead?

Ewan Bremner as The Guitar Guru

    Edward Norton as Danny

    Sean Astin as Ollie

Matt Damon as Sellotaped Mouth Man

The film would be set in New York.

The film would have a score.

The Guitar Guru would be an ?English? villain and talk like the Queen.

We would see what brand of beers the lads drink in the kitchen.

The flat would be a huge studio apartment.

The guitar would be an electronic guitar and Danny would blast out a whole rock riff while sitting on his bed.

The ringing phone on the hill would be a cell phone and be the latest Nokia.

Danny would meet a love interest during the dream sequence.

Another famous actor would make a cameo during the dream sequence.

There would be no water on the camera lens

Danny would wake up from his dream at night, the window open, wind blowing into his room, a full moon shining into his room and a digital alarm clock showing what time it is.

When Danny goes to open the door for the Guru, instead of being hit over the head with the guitar, his apartment would blow up.

    Hey that's a point Phil!

How come Paul didn't have the guitar amped up?

I am aware it's a bit late to be asking this sort of thing, but someone forgot to turn the light on as they were going into the kitchen so fuck it!

Oh and one thing missing from the Hollywood remake - an overly MTV-style title sequence at the start. Saul Bass on crack or something.

The goof with the light has already been document on the old forum about 2 years ago.

It was a cock-up, pure and simple.

    I blame the director 100%.

They have to die so that they can guide Danny through Limbo to the answers he seeks.

Speaking of cock-ups, if "he who plays the guitar shall be damned", then why do 'Ollie' and 'Other Guy' die when Danny plays the guitar?
