why is everyone moaning on aout reducing your life expectancy? when you're really old, there's sod all you can do, other than really annoy hell out of people, by walking really slowly in front of them when they're in a rush. Oh and talking about the good old days. Being old, and senile, and incontinent, and not being able to walk properly and all the other shite you get when you get old...not a nice thought.
Thank you, but if that's what i've got to look forward to, i think i'm gonna start smoking far more. Could get run over by a bus tomorrow, that's decrease my life expectancy considerable i'm sure. But we're not gonna start taxing buses, and stopping people using them, just cos it might decrease someone's life expectancy.

And anyway, the reason the number of people dying of cancer has increased dramatically over the last few decades, is because hospitals and things are better equipped to deal with all the diseases that used to kill people and this is one of the few ones that cannot be cured yet. So something has to kill them all off. So there.

hmmm...i have to agree with barker, i've tried to keep my opinions out of this cos i dont smoke and it will seem biased, but i have to say that i've seen my grandparents die from cancer and it was awful

Lets just say that there becomes a cure for AIDS and cancer and stuff,there will be new killers on the way.It's evolutions way of thinning the population.TB was a killer,same with the Plague.Smoking does increase the chance of getting it,true,but non smoking can put more of a strain on an ex smokers health,specifically heart than carrying on.If cigarettes were no more and no-one smoked,then onions would be the cause of all disease.
