A fan of Norwegian rock group Mayhem is suing the band after his skull was fractured by a flying sheep's head at one of their concerts.
The head was launched into the crowd as the animal was being cut up on stage as part of the show in Bergen.
It flew off the knife of lead singer Maniac and struck 25-year-old Per Kristian Hagen.
Hagen was subsequently hospitalised, but is expected to recover.
He has now filed involuntary assault and battery charges against the band.
"My relationship to sheep is a bit ambivalent now," Hagen said.
"I like them, but not when they come flying through the air.
"I have a headache now."
Accident
But Mayhem member Rune Eriksen, whose stage name is Blasphemer, said the incident was simply unfortunate.
"The whole thing was an accident, but maybe it would be an idea for another show," he said.
Eriksen promised Hagen a free ticket to the group's next performance.
The police are investigating the incident. The charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison.
However police detective Carl-Petter Leganger said: "Nothing suggests this was a conscious act."
[The sheep was already dead].
