Hey hey! I'm thinking of getting an xbox.. but not too sure, what's everyone's opinion on them? Any computer nerds out there able to tell me if there's a way of play DIVX movies on them without chipping it? Have you hooked it up to your computer yet and mucked about? I dunno... any feedback would be good.. [img]smile.gif[/img]

we got one. only two games, but jetsetradio is dead good. i know you can play DVDs but ive never heared of DIVX. all in all a powerful buy!

i do prefer the ps2 tho...more games, about same price but agen, not sure about divx! they do play dvds (dont waste money on a control! joypad is easy enuf to suss)
or just get an ace pc which is even better [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

There are a hell of a lot of cracking games on Ps2 cos it has been around a lot longer...and they do still have exclusive licences eg the final fantasy series,but having not played any X box games I cant comment on how good they are...ditto with the gamecube...i wish I could afford all 3.....but Id rather stick with the devil I know....plus the games on ps2 have got a lot cheaper recently....

Yes you can play any format on the xbox as there is an xbox media player available and it resides on the machines drive. It also uses the network port properly so you can play each other on your own tv's (no split screen bullshit). Its far more modern than anything out there. Sega produce games for it (need i say more).Besides what people may say the pad is the most comfortable ive used, ergonomicly designed. Your games can be actually stored on the machine too so no need to keep swapping discs. Due to it being a new ish machine thers not as many games as ps2 (over 2yrs age difference) available yet but that will soon change. It has far more compatability features than anything out there and the games are piss to copy

Check out Morrowind for the Xbox. It makes Final Fantasy pale in comparison, and this is from a huge FF fan

I do reckon that the xbox is better and the controller rules!! we got both the little and big controller and i think bigger is better. but PS2 does have the new ISS which is totally amazing compared to FIFA but i guess bubba you aint bothered about that
