It always seemed to me that maybe Dennis & Carter B had some roots in the gosp church. It wouldn't aurprise me at all if guys such as Spears, Tribbett, Ted C, C Dave, BFMoore, McCurdy, TG, & the Mint Condition live cat have roots in it AW...in fact, i'd be surprised if they didn't.
It's true, these "neo-soul," RnB/Soul/Motown/Gosp type of cats have now become the trendy rage [that's not said in a bad way as is my usual ;-)], because many if not all hip-hop rhythms seem to draw from these type of influences.
