So, is it reasonable to assume that all of the Weckl/Vinnie/Gadd recordings prior to '92 was pre-YESS?

I would say that's a safe assumption. (other than Vinnie using Gretsch obviously)

92' would be correct, was introduced at winter namm that year along with the Maple Custom line.

YESS came out in 93, Maple Custom drums were in 92.........someone sent me a message pointing this out.
