Altho a drummer friend of mine went to BSOM [& studied privately w/ GChafee there AW, & has since gone on to play w/ at least 2 major label Nashville country(-rock) acts, 1 of which he's still a member & has been 4 more than 2-3 yrs.]; i personally can't comment on the Berklee thing. But i will say to [LouieP] that i think it's great that u r only 17 & have such high musical goals - not to mention that u r into some of the heaviest, main 'cats' EVER [DW, DC, etc.] at such a good age as that... Sorry to hear about your negative experiences at BSOM, Drum 6282. Try to turn these neg. 'thought-processes' into pro-active ones [i know - easy 4 me to say, right?] I do know that i would've liked to have gone to any of the major institutions just 4:
1. The experience
2. Being around all those other musicians
3. the possible connections[?!]
4. exposure to the many diff. musical styles in a practical, hands-on setting
5. that diploma!
- but i started gigging in my hometown 1/2-way thru my soph. yr. in college.

Try to make it as far as your tuition is paid up [img]tongue.gif[/img] ; get together w/ some other musicians at your level, who r available, to try to spread things out/"break things up" a bit. Believe it or not, even the most NEGATIVE exp's. have positive results that come from them. U may not see it right away, but have patience, it will make itself apparent. [That old adage, "every cloud has a silver lining" - seek & find it!] U can/will definitely learn from these exprncs. Positive things DO come from neg 1's. Even tho things may "suck" or things will go wrong, it's your attitude & how u react to it that holds true weight. All of life is about perserverance, bottom line [i'm tryin to adhere to my own advice!!]

If u can, "gut it out," & get what u want/need out of it - it ends up what YOU make of it/how YOU handle it in the end [it's a chess game of the mind]. Rise above the BS, & keep your chin up, bro! We're rootin' 4 ya'!
