Fires

Hoping that all our comrades
are OK in the Southern California
area, with the horror that cont-
inues there.

I just got off the phone with my
brother, who lives in San Diego,
with his family. The fires got
within 5 miles, to the west of
him but thankfully, continued to
move on south of him.

Of course, there are SO MANY that
did not fare as well, some even
losing their lives in the battle
and for these people, we must pray.

They are scattered about, and north west of many HOD memebrs or north east. Those in LA, Hollywood, San Fernando Valley are OK. The fire is moving east from Simi Valley which is five miles from me personally. Yet, five "fire" miles is not like a regular drive in the car along a highway. A friend I work with had to evacuate his house w/family due to smoke overload. His home is OK, it was the intense smoke into the home. Not much you can do at that point.

I've lived in So Cal all my life outside a few years in Indiana, and I've never seen so many fires at the same time, especially in San Diego Country. They even swithced Monday Night Football from the SD Chargers stadium to Arizona. Airports have been directly affected as well...I'd imagine that impacts music, gigs, recording sessions, etc. I just NEVER rains in So California--that's one song that still holds true to its lyrical content. Seriously, this is a shock for those who live in other areas. It can go 8-9 months w/o a drop! The hills are SO dry and we are having a heat wave with huge and consistent wind gusts. Fire speads so quickly.

Worst part: High probability some boinkers were throwing matching off a highway to start one of the blazes. It really is weird how all these fires started at the same time from such diverse geographical areas. Not to go to the terrorist theory here...but it would be VERY easy to do this and cause great havoc. An evil minded person could set all of So Cal in flames if they were intent on doing so.

"An evil minded person could set all of So Cal in flames if they were intent on doing so"...that wouldn't surprise me ONE bit, PP...seems like if i were out there, i'd take GREAT care NOT to do ANYTHING that even MIGHT be considered a HINT of "fire-causing"...but unfortunately [BESIDES accidents], there are A] Extremely Careless; B] Ignorant [lacking common sense]; C] Just plain stupid; D] deliberately evil people in this world....

Dude, I live in Santa Monica and yesterday, all you could smell was smoke. I at first thought somebody lit a campfire in the alley. Pretty weird. It was gross, and there was no escape from the smell, unless you went near the ocean. That smoke really travels.

Hey T-Bo, I live a few miles from Granada Hills HS where this location is now a storage place for those evacuating.

For some reason, this really didn't kick into my conscious until I saw a deer running around, lost. Lots of little rabbits running around as well. The unseen world comes out in a tragedy like this.

What a mess. Goes to show that no matter where you live there is some natural disaster to contend with.(Tornado season starts soon around here) You guys take care and God bless.
