Sizes?

Hi HOD,

For any of you that play a four shell kit (probably not many of you), could you tell me your sizes and the style your playing?

The best all round size tom to go with a 14 x 14 floor tom?

Hi Phil,

I use two differnet 4 piece kits, one for jazz, other for pretty much anything else:

Gretsch for jazz:
16x18 kick
9x12 tom
14x14 floor tom
5x14 snare

Tama kit for others:
16x16 or 14x22 Kick
8x12 tom
10x14 stand mounted floor tom
8x15 (yes, 15) Slingerland (60's era) wood snare.

The Tama kit gets reconfigured all the time since I have all the toms between 8"-16"

For corporate gigs I use a 10x7",12x14 and a 18x22 kic Pacific LX maple kit customized by DW.
if working with an artist in the studio or other, I use much the same kit but might add an 8" and a 12". Today in the studio I just used 10",14" and kic, with a few snares, 7x13 bronze Dunnett, 5x14 bubinga stave shell and an old 1960 Ludwig bronze.
