Sequencers

I am interested in getting a sequencer enabling me to drum along with keyboard and guitar patterns which I can adjust tempos and different lengths of decay. Ideally these sounds would be triggered by hitting one of the pads on the unit with a drumstick; also the unit would be playable through an amplifier. I tried the new Roland SPDS but found the sounds limited and do not want to have a create a lot of my own sounds. Any ideas?

Hi 5/8,

1) Any computer has a soundcard and if you have the cheapest Cubase (which you can download from Kazaa or WinMX) you can create parts to play along with.

2) You can put these parts easily in a Roland with Midi (buy a small Edirol device (Midi-USB)). Both Roland TD-6 and TD-8 have user songs which you can start with a pad. (You can play the parts yourself or programm them in Cubase) Besides you can use the TD as a soundcard for your computer for Cubase or any other software programm. I even use it for live and play loops with my band. With one pad you start and stop one loop but you can always use more pads.
