After the gracious "gift"/initial trade of a fellow HODHB member [you know who you are UNO ;c)], I am now officially back to being a bigtime Rush fan again...i was sent several things including a boatload of Rush mpgs/avi's that were on that site awhile back, & after watching the "Toronto Arts Awards '93" & the "Story of Rush ['02]," I am remembering why i got into music in the first place...Neil's little prepared speech at those awards gives you a glimpse as to who these guys really are & what they're all about, & overall, i give em a Siskel/Ebert/Roper [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] ...those guys truly gave R&R a good name...& to survive they way they have in this business & having done it their way is quite inspiring...i had gotten away from them because instrumentally they are not my bag much any more, but as a vocal rock band of the past few decades, this just reminds me how much they kicked axe...& i have them, esp Neil, to thank for my starting to play the drums/music...fond memories of a cool band...just my thoughts...thx again, NUHODF, & I'll be e'n you shortly [img]wink.gif[/img] ... Hmm, I wonder if I have to download BitTorrent for that?

My 1st drum challenge starting out was Tom Sawyer, waaaaaay before Exit Stage Left and the critically acclaimed YYZ drum solo. (Man I'm forever grateful they re-released it with A Passage to Bangkok.)

I, too, have since moved on, but the CD collection is still complete (including some interview CD's and an awesome (soundboard) boot from Roll The Bones (I think) (cue itchy throat clear for Fuse), and of course, the Rio DVD.

...one thing i will say, which echoes what many of you in here have said, that NP looks more uncomfortable now [that he's been 'grubertized'] than he did before...& those toms look so frikkin' high & flat-ish/only slightly angled; like he has to raise his arms up too high & out...uncomf! Or maybe it's just the cam angle from behind his L shoulder...
