Big find today at Barnes and Noble. The February 2005 Issue 135 of Mojo [UK magazine] has a free CD compilation with The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb" on it! Sid Vicious is on the cover. The free disc is called The Roots Of The Sex Pistols, 15 tracks that inspired a revolution. Other artists include The Modern Lovers, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, Eddie Cochran, Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, Mott The Hoople, etc.
Unfortunately, the Mojo website already shows the March 2005 issue. You might still be able to find the Feb. issue locally because UK magazines come out later in the States.

It was a nice surprise when I discovered The Runaways on the disc. If you can't find the CD at the store, you can pick up a copy on eBay.

That's great Wasted! And several of them are available! Thanks!
Now I must figure out what my computer problem is.
I can NOT sign in to bid. I thought it was my security settings or corrupted eBay cookies and with their help, I think I've tried all the possible "fixes" but I'm still missing something, obviously.
It worked fine one day but not the next!
I can still get to other secure sites!!!
I am perplexed to say the least.
Any helpful hints?

AND I just won the Roots CD for only $1.99
Looking forward to getting it, 4 sure!
Thanks again Wasted!

I'm glad your eBay problem is taken care of.
The researchers for the liner notes didn't do a good enough job. If they had they would have known that "Cherry Bomb" is currently available in the UK on The Runaways reissue by Cherry Red. The liner notes say:
Available on: The Best Of The Runaways currently unavailable in the UK.

There was a little bit more of a write up about "Cherry Bomb" in the magazine article about the CD.
<font size="2" face="Arial,Helvetica">February 2005 Mojo page 7While McLaren was 'assembling' the Pistols, Kim Fowley was doing likewise with all-girl teen combo The Runaways in California. This 1976 parent-baiting anthem marks them out as independent in outlook and sound. A piece in Mark Perry's Sniffin' Glue 'zine in July '76 endeared them to UK punks. Three years later guitarist Joan Jett recorded a demo with Steve Jones and Paul Cook. One track was I Love Rock'n'Roll.
