The Runaways in early days

Hi,

Did the early version of the band (with ex. Bangle Michael Steele) tour? I didn't realize any of their work was avail. til today--with the "Born To Be Bad" release (thanx Wasted!). Also, how long was Michael a Runaway??

Did Cherie, Jackie or Lita work with Michael, or did they join after her departure?

Anything you can share on the early days would be greatly appreciated!!!

The original versions of the band didn't actually tour, but they did perform gigs at places like Phast Phreddie's Living Room and The Whisky. I too would like to know how many concerts each band line-up performed.

In August 1975 Micki, Sandy and Joan went into Gold Star Studio to record a demo which was later released as Born To Be Bad in 1991. It has been reissued a few times over the years with different album covers.

I don't know exactly how long certain people were in the band. Here are my best guesses gleaned from concert reviews and old magazine articles. Micki was probably in the band for about 10-12 weeks [early August thru late October]. Cherie and Jackie didn't join the band until after Micki left.

The band lineup changed many times while they were auditioning.

Joan Jett, Sandy West and Micki Steele [Aug-Sep]
Joan Jett, Sandy West, Micki Steele and Lita Ford [Sep-Oct]
Joan Jett, Sandy West, Lita Ford, Cherie Currie and Peggy Foster [Oct]
