This isn't Runaways news, but close. Mark your calendars for June 6th, 2006. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts new album SINNER is scheduled to be released. And don't forget to check them out on tour this Spring and Summer on the Vans Warped Tour and other concert dates.

Interesting to see what a high profile the words 'Runaway' and 'Runaways' have, if you bring up the publicity information linked to the album title above!

Yes, The Runaways usually are mentioned in most of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts press info for album releases, sometimes more prominantly than others. Joan has said on the Radio Revolution that The Runaways were her high school where she spent her "School Days."
BTW, Kim Fowley went to see the Blackhearts perform recently in Palm Springs on April 1st. I think she said that that was the first time they had met face to face in 27 years. Kim is a fellow DJ on the Underground Garage and broadcasts from the California desert.

I bet I'm not the only one here who would have loved to have heard that conversation!

The warped tour pulls into Montreal at the end of August, I believe. All these years of hope, and I don't think I'll go. I have a family function to attend at around the same time. :cry
Question: Why won't Joan play Ottawa! There has to be a reason. Anybody know?

Hmmmm - this 'new album' sounds suspiciously like 'Naked' with a couple of new tracks tacked on. Can you say 'rip-off', kids?

It all would go away."
Who knows the way that the business world operates? That was a dumb thing for you to say pal.

Hey Dav,
Naked was a Japan Only release.
Sinner is a U.S. release!
Looking forward to it!

It's just my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Most of Joan's hardcore fans will have already bought 'Naked' on import already and now they're put in the situation where, if they want to hear some new songs, they'll have to pay out again for a full-price album comprised mostly of stuff they already have.
I think that it's a crummy way to treat the kids (and the adults, for that matter).
By all means, give 'Naked' a US release for the people that haven't heard it - but come on! Save the new stuff for an all-new album. It's called 'value for money'...
