ain't that the shit?... ask a question and 3 pages later there's still no answer... you may have created the monster, but i fed the monster by suggesting the song was about God. my bad. i RETRACT THAT STATEMENT!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!
I've created a monster! All I wanted was to know the name of a band. Like some people before me; I suggest we discuss music here on this board. I'm sure there's a lot of other messageboards where you can discuss religion. So PLEASE; leave it out!!!

So who is that band?
Are you sure it's a Social D Cover?
Who told you? Have you ever heard it yourself?
A few days ago whilst driving home from work I had the radio on and there was a crap Canadian band that had a song by the name of "Untitled" which was about drunk driving and the lot.
Shitty? You bet! A Social D cover? No!
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">It was harsh. I was all fired up when I posted that, and I was really referring to the people starting the war, not the people fighting it. I feel very sorry for the troops and their families. I'm sure alot of them are over there feeling dumb at times though. Wondering how did I choose this as my path in life? Am I going to survive? Will I ever see my kids/parents/mate/friends again? All the suffering that so many people have and will endure over this war is a shame. I'm sure many of them would have forfieted the hero title and chose a different path if they would have known all the terror they would be facing. Its heartbreaking.Originally posted by Python423:

All who I've saw are very proud of what is gonig on there. They see the people thanking them, and they see how grateful they are. There are things worth fighting for , and even dieing for. I'm thankful that we have people who feel that way. If we didn't, we wouldn't be here having this discussion.
I think we as Americans only see our little space in our hometown, our friends and immediate surroundings.. The presidents have a much much broader sense of whats gonig on in the world. And I see America as one of the major peace keepers in the world. You can't turn your back on those in need (the Iraq people and people under such harsh goverment), did you read the articles about the blinding of people as punishment by pouring acid in their eyes? this is done all the time in Iran. I dont think any of us are qualified to say we know how to run the country or even come close to understanding all the things that go into such decisions.
I guess it be easy to just take care of our own, and forget everone else. But thats not how the world works. Someone has to keep world peace in the world, you can't sit back and let terrorists and goverments that support terrorists, research and devise new and cruel methods to torture their own citizens and to bring these type terrors to our lands.
Because if its left ignroed, it only grows and grows and grows, and then we really coudln't do anything to stop them.
As messy as it gets over there, its gotta be done, and we are the strongest country to do it, and with help of the allies, its gotta be done.
Sometimes the only way to keep evil people from doing great harm is by going to war with them.
In the Old Testament, God ordered the Israelites to: ?Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites? (Numbers 31:2) Exodus 17:16 proclaims, ?He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."
So, obviously God is not against all war. Ecclesiastes 3:8 declares, ?there is?a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. In a world filled hatred, and evil, war is inevitable. Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
I think alot of people against this war, are only seeing how its affecting them and their surroundings, and how it might be costing them extra at the pump, or whatever. I dont think they take into consideration, "the big picture"[/QB][/QUOTE]
I wasn't gonna get into this one, but I will. I won't get into my views on the Iraq war (they're mixed), but I NEVER understood how Christians who swear by the Bible and the ten commandments (thou shalt not kill?) can think its ok to kill if the government tells you to. The government killed Jesus!
Seriously Python, take a look at what you're saying and the rhetoric that you use. My sister is a total nut-bag brainwashed Christian that qoutes the Bible like you and the language is just all too much the same. And I know my sister and I know that she doesn't really believe half the crap she says, she just likes writing "family newsletters" that qoute the bible and that she signs with "god bless" b/c she likes playing the game and using the rhetoric b/c it gives her a false sense of knowing who she is an some weird security blanket to hide behind. But anyway, if you can always sign off saying "God Bless", I figure I'll mix it up.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Hey that makes total sense. I dont know why I didnt see that before considering the title of the song and the rest of the lyrics. That little line always bothered me, now I see what it means. Thanks for pointing that out.Originally posted by PainWillBeMyMotivation:
As I understand it, he wasn't saying that there's no God from his personal perspective. He sometimes has introduced the song as being about one of those guys that has everything go wrong for them. It says "YOU tell them that there ain't no God... YOU'RE always scratchin' at the eight ball... YOUR enemies are getting nearer", etc.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Didn't john Maurer use to post here occasionally a long time ago?? anyone know how to contact him? online ?Originally posted by social_d_fan01:

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Again I'm not preachign to anyone, we were discussing the meaning of the songs, and others jumped in (first) with bad remarks. While you might not think its cool to witness, but we are commanded to, Also if anyone specifically asks you about your faith, your not to ignore the question or beat around the bush...Originally posted by mykbyk95:
"I do think he should not avoid the topic, and should pubically state his faith."
If anything Python i think its great that he doesent advertise it even if he was all about it. It annoys me when people are so into their religion they feel they have to preach & tell everyone else about it (hint hint), no offense
For Jesus said in (Mark 8:38) If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels
The thread was about the song, until others felt it necessary to badmouth Christ, and felt obligated to jump in, then I felt obligated to continue the discussion as others asked questions.. I think for the most part it has been a peaceful discussion. I won't be ashamed of stating Jesus Christ's name, as there is no other name in heaven, that one can be saved.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I was discussing what I thought Mike's meaning behind the song is. I don't care for my interpertation or anyone elses for that matter. I was specfically interested in the authors inspired meaning. Not stating my interpertation was his original inspiration, but thats where discussion was gonig, we were trying to guess and what Mikes original thoughts were, based on alot of things, that song, other songs, his life on the camera, etc ,etc.Originally posted by lostheart:
But Python...why defend your opinion on Mike's lyrics and shove it into everyone elses face?
Lyrics are there to be interpreted and if you take 10 people and ask them what their opinion is on song X, you'll most likely get 10 different interpretations...and that's great because everyone is getting something out of it for themselves...
Far as "untitled" goes, someone who has been born again, its very clear. I'd about bet its 98% chance the song is about being born again.
Again I know others won't understand it, but if they ever are, then they will. Until then, they won't have a clue.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">If I knew the name of the band I wouldn't have started this thread. Would I? I'm sure it's a SD cover, and I have heard it myself. I just can't remember the name of the band.Originally posted by lostheart:

Let me leave you with a couple of thoughts...
(John 12:48) There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
(Isaiah 45:23)By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
(Matthew 12:32) Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
