I found that interesting that Mike had the lyrics written down. I was watching a special on one of the HD channels last week on the 10 year anniversary of OZZFEST. During Black Sabbath's performance, Ozzy had a teleprompter going for "paranoid"

Funny about the lyrics posted for Mike. It's a good side note, but I think we have to let Mike be on that one. We all complain if they play the same set show after show, and you know we would post here if Mike screwed up the lyrics to a song as well! Wolpits is in a band and knows better that I, but I would think that there are enough distractions playing live and if you want to make sure to get the song right by having the lyrics in front of you that's alright with me. I don't think someone is any less of a performer if they cant remember all the words to a song they wrote or performed many years ago.

i saw lucinda williams a few months ago, and she actually had a whole binder full of lyrics on a table next to the mic. personally, it doesn't lower my opinion of the artist at all. artists like ness, lucinda, etc. they're getting up there age wise and have had some hard living. maybe they can't remember everything like they used to. i would rather see them play and read the lyrics then not perform at all... it's the lip-syncers that need to say at home.

for the record, i'm not knocking the man for using lyrics. just providing more insight into their performance for those that might be interested.

I dont think anything is wrong with that also. My point was that even OZZY, singing probably one of the 2 or 3 most popular Black Sabbath songs for like the 9 millionth time, still has to use a teleprompter for the words.
Yes, when you play live, there is no starting over, and sometimes you just have a brain fart. Its much easier to hide it on guitar than it is to hide you forgetting a lyric.

I wish they would have had those mist machine years ago. Roger Miret kicked ass on the small stage early in the day. One shitty thing about the hoot, 1 beer per person. Wait in line 1/2 hour for a dixie cup of rolling rock for 6 bones. I was suprised on how good most of the bands sounded this year. Usually someone is pissing about the sound.
