It is my least favorite song, but there are some elements of it that i like.
I need to finally get this off my chest:
I think "Stranded In The Jungle" by The New York Dolls sucks.
Thank you.

Wow Carl! I wasn't expecting that when I read the topic of this thread:-)
It's definitly one of the better tracks they did. It's a cover tune too... of some 50's girl group, but it might be something else. At least it's a cover.
I always preffered the more straight-to-the-point NYD songs, but I'm not sure I dislike it enough to say that it sucks.
Seeing as this is the confessional:
I thought Tiffany was cute in an 80s kinda way...
Well, whatever. I've always seen people mention it as a shinning moment in the Dolls catalogue, and I always thought it sucked.

The Dolls can do no wrong!
They're the one band that will never get back together never record again.

Stranded In The Jungle" was written by Ernestine Smith & James Johnson in 1956; the same year this R&B novelty classic was a huge hit for the West Coast vocal group The Cadets (Modern 994). The Cadets version of the song was actually a cover of the Jay Hawks original version, although much more polished and energized.
Arrrggghhh....I feel you are wrong Mr. I
I love the sillyness of Stranded in the jungle. I always loved how it kicked into the chorus.
Now for a moment of honesty.
I bought the first Sigue Sigue Sputnik LP when it first came out. Holy crap what a horrendously awful album that was. I have only felt less ripped off when I bought Diamond Rexx - Valley of the damned.
I cannot understand what people see in that band. The image was great but the music was beyond weak in my humble opinion. No offence to anybody that digs them.
Damn! Sandy! If you had picked any SSS but the first one I would be able to understand you (even if I love a lot of tracks on those too), but the first one is flawless in my oppinion.
One of my all time favourite albums!
If you close your eyes and listen to it loudly you'll feel like your watching the trailer to some Arnie action movie rather than listening to a record and I truely feel it's one of the most insane records ever released... without having that godawful acid feel that most of the other records in the history of wierd records have.
Of course now in 2006 the bottom end of the production doesn't really kick ass anymore. The drum machine doesn't have the power it should have, but I still love it ot death. In my ears there isn't a single bad track on that album........ well, that's my confession and I think most of you'll rather agree with Sandy on this LOL
