Anyone here like Reggae?
I gotta say, I'm not a huge fan, but something about it always makes me think I'm on vacation. I heard it a lot on my honeymoon in Cabo, and a few times in CA, when I went down for my buddies wedding.
I was wondering if anyone has a good Reggae compilation cd that I can get a copy of.
I think it would be cool to play it here on hot days (and nights) in the back yard with a few friends and brewskis.
Can anyone help?

Nope, not a fan here, BUT.... i have to say a very cool Reggae orientated band was a band from the UK called UB40. I have to admit to liking a few of their songz... QUITE a few actually. Not a bad band those guys.

you don't need a compilation cd all you need is Bob Marley's Legend. Another good cd is Shaggy's Boombastic. seen Shaggy a few times live, always a good time. but trust me on the Legend, think of it as the Zeppelin 4, Stones Exile, AC/DC Back In Black of reggae, it's a great place to start.

Don't like the stuff myself. It's one of the things that always turned me the slightest bit off of bands like The Clash and all of the other Punk bands that dabbled with Ska and that sort. Bah, just bugs me.
Andii, were you thinking you spelled "UB40" wrong??? LOL!!!

I kinda like some ska, and yeah, I've pretty much heard that Reggae IS Bob Marley. I was just mainly thinking about the relaxing island atmosphere reggae that you hear when you vacation in tropical places. Are there any others besides Marley? Are there Reggae compilations?

Shit, either of you guys end up in my area, all the drinks are on me! I have a basement overflowing with great beers, and I owe you both. Hell, I still owe Dan his own damn CD's back. Thanks for reminding me! I need to buy some CD-R's.
Christ, is there anybody on this site I don't owe?
Dan, I have also heard good things about the other Marley, Ziggy. I would just head into a Borders or any store, hit the VA sections, and sure enough there are Reggae comps out the wazoo. Heck, I would even hit a used joint, surely you will find something there.
