15 Thoughts
1.
Dawn on a Tuesday
glowing bright
yet dim
& I'm reading about the Buddha
Meditate on the Buddha
& I'm listening to Leonard Cohen
Meditate on Leonard Cohen
Dance me here
Dance me there
There are so many to know
& all i know so
far is-
smoking sucks for
my health-
2.
I came into town yesterday
went straight for the
school - avoiding my
own room of hell
went to work avoiding
going there
then that was over-
stopped at the store
for milk & cereal
for another week
of teething
- & I got nowhere
else to go
but my own
personal hell -
3.
Oh sweet morning
I woke from a dream
I was happy, horse ride
on the cliff next to sea.
Happy & happy & happy
Chasing the sun &
the moon all at the
same time falling
into the sea of
drowned relentless
agony -
Oh sweet morning
I woke up &
now I'm sad...
4.
Time is time is time
as this moment &
penciled in the crammed
notebook of thought
Ohhhh Ohhhh
I am me &
me am I like
I is me &
me is I
Ahhhh
Ecstatical longing
& crazed out
like a sip
o' tee ...
5.
Peacefulness
for the noise
& let it ring your
ears...
Oh noise
make that sweet
noise
Oh sweet symphony
in color of
the blackbird
background orange...
sweet music
in me mind...
6.
Skyscrapers
Sky rapers
people are ants
down below
walking driving
eating
& here eye am
writing
what is useless?
working your life
to the grave
or immortalizing
thoughts for all
to read?
7.
I was a little boy
thinking along these lines
"But Daddy, your legs
are long, I can't walk
with you & keep up -
But Daddy, you stand
tall & proud, I can't
stand & fight for myself."
Then i grew up -
which I never wanted
to do-
8.
Who wants to be a pot?
I do
I do
Who wants to write all day long?
I do
I do
Who wants to read all of Keats?
I do
I do
Who's going to the poetry reading?
I am
I am...
9.
Oh sad concrete
plodded upon by feets
of beggars & dirty politicians
of job seekers & the poor
Oh sad concrete
don't crack at the streets
of the country & city
of town & village
Oh sad concrete
Absorbing music so sweet
of melody & rythm
of vocals & sax
Provide me a resting place
to lay my weary head...
10.
Lovely you in the mornings
lovely sun shining
lovely new day dawning
I dreamed God's eyes were
colored clear & kind
I dreamed of Buddha
while reading Dhammapeda
Oh sweet as sugar in
my tea
Oh sweet is the word
of everything
incandescent &
soft music
Lovely you in the mornings...
11.
City of sounds
City of down
town
Place a crown
on her head
before she frowns
& I end up dead.
City of people
City of wheeple
deeple
Kiss her soft dimple
next to her lips
Keep the kiss simple
my dear friend Pip.
12.
Star constellation night
no one to hold me tight
is this not right
& this not me
completely understandable
I
understand
this
fallibility
of a line going
d
o
w
n.
13.
Now it's all done
in an ordately kind
of way that
I find you there-
were you waiting for me?
were you waiting long?
I wait to give them jewels
I wait for the future to come
I wait for the rains on the plains
I wait for love 'cause nobody else would
were you waiting for me?
were you waiting long?
14.
I wrote a good poem today
But I threw it away
It was about that one time
I busted a cool-o-meter
"cause I knew I wouldn't qualify
There's a line in there about
how I don't want to remember
my lost childhood
It told how I fought this guy
because he's a suck-up
mr. popularity & I hate him
It screamed loud - obsession & violence
& all that mental hysteria
I guess it was a good poem
but I threw it away.
15.
There's loneliness in the radio
sometimes I can't stand to
turn it on
It speaks back at
my hum dum drum
so uncool life
Who cares about being cool?
I don't but I'm costantly
reminded I should be
& I turn on the radio:
"This song is all for you
all for you
this song is all for you
all for you
this song is all -"
(tape rolls out)

I like this a lot, dwim. Seemingly random aspects that tie to a few, very clear concepts... joy, peace, fear, lonliness, sorrow, and love...
*big hug*
Nice work, joker-me-boyo....

I wrote those thought in a small notepad over the course of the week, collecting my thoughts as I go along. Originally, there were 16 but I felt that one had to go as it don't tie in with my personal beliefs or at least, it wasn't what I wanted to be known for. I appreciated the comments and thank you.
