semi autobiographical. input is appreciated, as always.
Tyler?s glasses and watch sat on the table to his left. Underneath the watch were nine sugar packets, three for each of the three cups of coffee that he had already drank. The coffee pot was in his upper-right hand corner of the table. Closer to his side of the table was the empty bowl of chili that he had just consumed. On the same plate was a tub of butter that he had not touched. To the bowls right was his half-empty water glass, filled with shards of ice. Christina?s glass of water was directly across from his; it was half-full. In the corner of the table was her napkin, unfolded, as though she was going to put it in her lap, but had forgotten. In the background, he could faintly hear a Sheryl Crow song on the diner?s speakers, bubbling over the murmur of conversation. ?Did you know when you go, it?s the perfect ending to the bad day I was just beginning??
He looked up at her face as she chomped a bit of the tortilla that he had given to her and noticed her new haircut. She had probably gotten it a week ago, if not more. He sipped his last cup of coffee as he stared at her and thought about how much darker he had gotten since getting back into town. His mohawk had been cut off last night, and his hair was still spotted with little patches where the center was longer than the shaved sides. He was glad to be back in town, but there were bad things about it, too. He set the cup on the table gently and continued to stare at her. Twelve and a half minutes since any words had been spoken. He had counted the seconds. Chris? cellular phone was on her right. It rang obnoxiously and she jumped to pick it up.
?Hello? ? Yeah ? Okay ? Yeah, please?? She spoke through tears. She hung up the phone and stared into his eyes, eyes that she had once known. ?Bye.? She got up from the booth and walked out of the restaurant, not looking back once.
Tyler watched out the window until Christina?s friends SAAB came to pick her up. He put six dollars on the table, the entire cost, including tip, of their last meal.
?Yeah,? he said. ?Bye??

"Sink trough the floor feels no differenct today
I'll tell you it's like the sky's getting further away
Still close without a reason
Still the same when I hold it inside
Still close without a reason
Still when I have it insight."
