Has anyone seen Equilibrium yet?
I'm currently watching it, and it looks like it has great promise, sort of a combination between fahrenheit 451, the matrix (yes, they combine, for some reason) and post-apocalyps.
(basic story: WW III breaks out, mankind barely survives, some survivors decide that mankind is too dangerous for itself, and develop a designer drug that supresses emotions. trading off "the heights of emotion, to protect mankind from it's deepest depths").
It's an interesting setting, and the fighting part is pretty good if you only like that.
So, go watch this one if you have a chance.
I'll post more when i finish it, (which will probably be tomorrow)

halfway through now, there's some 1984 type of things happening too, the 'father' who is the ultimate head of state is just a dead give-away, i wonder what role they're gonna give him.
Personally i'm afraid this movie might end up as "a one man against the system" movie, in which he might win, which would really make the movie less believable, books like 1984/ brave new world/ fahrenheit 451 end.. 'real', what would really happen if one guy would go against a totalitarian system. This could go wrong, but who knows, i'm only halfway, so we'll see what happens.

Hmmm, some nice plot twists (funny how you expect that there are plot twists, but you don't see the plot twists themselves coming up)
Still, the action part became a whole lot higher, backstory is now less prevalent so the last part is mainly a high-tension karate movie, but what karate! karate with guns!

just a few last things, funny how the 'troops' of the new order all wear long leather jackets, and big dark racing helmets, there's a little too much in the way of overly obvious visual cues, i wonder what i missed in the way of not so visual cues, still, if you want to see a movie, try this one, at least, unless you were hoping for a disney cartoon.

Explain a lil more about Equilibrium, ok? When was it first released? What country produced it? I rarely go to current flix in theatres (The Two Towers being an exception, but nothing since). You mentioned it having similarities to Fahrenheit 451 (a British film), The Matrix (a film by two American geeks highly influenced by Asian Kung-Fu fighting, filmed in Australia), and "post-apocalypse" (which brings to mind either Britians Day Of The Triffids or Australia's Mad Max series. Where did this movie come from, and when?

okay, the movie itself is quite new, last year, probably in the theaters around now.
As far as the 1984/ fahrenheit 451 goes, it's the way the settings look alike, the movie itself is not quite as profound or as deep, but the setting seems to borrow heavy on those two movies.
okay: here's the info on it on imdb:

Very interesting reviewing style you have there, Zelda.
A mix between F451, the Matrix and 1984...
Sounds good...well at least better than that new 'earths core' movie coming out (is out??).
I'm tired.
