i have to agree with alison.
this movie blows.
i wouldnt rent it either.
im sorry i subjected alison to it in the first place.
im not very familiar with the comic books, so im not sure if it followed some type of story line that was in the comics or if it was all original...but i....ya know what? im tired of typing.

Big surprise there. Imagine, Ben Affleck as a superhero I know nothing about! WOW!! Never read Daredevil, so don't give a rats-ass about him. Spiderman & Superman, it's not necessary to have read about their past comic-book adversaries before getting to sympathize for them.
Hearing about a Daredevil movie being released, it personally felt like Hollywood moviemaking bigwigs all surrounded a table and came to the conclusion "We NEED another superhero movie!"
What about the many kick-ass comic Heros (and Anti-Heros) that don't need 90-minutes wasted screentime spent to give 'em an origin?
How about "MilkMan Dan" hilarious superhero stories about an asskicking milkmans life of fighting boredom, "Milk & Cheese" (Dairy products gone bad) heavy drinking yet kicking some serious Gen-X ass, "The Post Brothers" Ron & Russell, interdimensional terrorists and/or mercenaries. "Cobalt-60", from Vaughn Bode, decades before the "Terminator" movie, about a lone survivor wandering in a mechanized future world populated with self-conscious machines bent on the destruction of the Human race.

personally... i felt that marvel got a bit pissed
off when it saw dc make a few bucks with their
*cough*big*cough* movies.... so they just wanted
in on the loot.
its a shame though...
it coulda been so much better.
i suppose they coulda just looked at 'spawn' and
took a clue.... tsk tsk

Fuck Marvel AND DC. I opened up a few of my old 70's underground comix again for refreshment.
My recommendations for comic-book entertainment:
1) Slow Death Comix (especially the Richard Corben/"GORE" stories)
2) Junkwaffle (the whole series)
3) "The Man", by Vaughn Bode, I still can't read the fuckin thing without crying when the end comes near. It's a very simple story about a caveman trying to discover who he is, with his only friends; a wounded bird, his spear, and a lil flame given to him by the God 'lightning'.
