here we go, from the top--second verse of the same song:
suppose you are drawing for a lottery. before you is a large basket of lottery chips. you reach in and pull out a name.
allowing that chance is (blah blah blah math, blah blah blah phenomena, blah blah blah, a red cow)...
attempt to humor me by telling me that the name you just drew has something to do with chance.

hmm, i'll have to ponder on that for a while but this is something that just 'sprung to mind' while reading this.
(so i'll post it as an opinion and see what happens)
chance is the name we give to the connection between cause and effect.

there is no such thing as chance. What is wrongly termed chance is just poor reception in a field where there exists no dominant governing pattern...OR because one does not posess knowledge enableing one to find the tile with the name one desires apon it does not mean the hand did not pick a specific tile.

agreed.
i also feel that this...'x' also can be substituted for anything we have no knowledge of.
it seems to me that this 'x' is present 99% of the time--constantly. mainly, it is dubbed with the more common terms (i think we all know some of those common terms).
at present, i wonder what 'x' should be called, in respect to its specific definition and properties.
soon-to-be discovered knowledge, maybe?
can we assume that we can attain, much less comprehend such given knowledge?

Concept forms should always paralell known states of matter or energy, because information is a fundimental principle on which those things are grounded from information to energy, from energy to matter.
now as I see it the nature and dynamics of knowledge is verr much like the states of energy, potential, kinetic, etc. I would say given this close paralell we should call it "potential knowledge". Furthermore, I dont usualy down grade my statements by saying "thats just my two cents" but you know, that realy is just my two cents

it is interesting that you termed 'potential knowledge'. i had originally considered that term, but somehow i felt it to be derrogatory in some nature.
perhaps i am being subjective here, but i feel that 'potential' suggests a 'toss up' whereas 'discovered' or 'soon-to-be discovered' gives me a sense of hope.
but...
yes, it is potential knowledge.
