I will name the time and place, but....

My life is kind of up in the air right now, so I'd like to defer collection for a while, if that is okay.

I'm not a beer drinking kind of person. You know me so well. [img]wink.gif[/img] But you said earlier that you would substitute, and I figure that's an open-ended offer.

I think we'd agree on much, and you might learn some things that would surprise you. And I might learn some things that will be of value to me in the future.

And any encounter where two people learn something is a good thing.

The first person to raise their hand with the correct next number in the sequence got a piece of candy.

I got accused of cheating when I repeatedly got the correct answer faster than the teacher thought I should be able to. It turns out that I was doing things differently, e.g. he had a series 1, 9, 25, 49 and I answered 81 instantly. He thought that it was +8, +(2*8), +(3*8), etc. and I could not possibly have figured the series and got the next answer so quickly. In the principal's office I said that it was simply the squares of the odd numbers and of course the next number was instantly obvious.

I got an apology and a piece of candy. And I figured out that the math teacher (who taught gym also...) was not as facile at math as I.

The beginning of the end with regard to respect for authority...

The offer of free alcohol is an erstwhile attempt to shed an undeserved "mean" online persona. It is actually everyone else who is mean. I am an unwitting victim in the grind that is chat board politics.
