Here's some more on the events of the weekend involving the fund
Maupin scholarship fundraising events
THE ENQUIRER
Tickets for tonight's $50-per-person dinner-dance at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland are sold out, but there are other ways people can help the Matt Maupin April 9 Scholarship fund.
Two more are taking place on Saturday.
Rolling Thunder Chapter 9 and the Yellow Ribbon Support Center are sponsoring a motorcycle ride that starts at the Glen Este High School parking lot at 4342 Glen Este-Withamsville Road. The cost is $15 for individuals and $20 for couples. Sign-up begins at 10 a.m., with the cyclists leaving the parking lot at noon. The ride will end at the American Legion Post 72 at 497 Old Ohio 74 in Mount Carmel, where there will be free food and a raffle. Non-riders can come to the American Legion hall for the end-of-ride party for a $5 donation.
From 2 to 4 p.m. on the same day, there will be a Bowl-a-Thon at Cherry Grove Bowling Center, 4005 Hopper Hill Road. Those who donate $20 to the scholarship fund will get three games of bowling and free shoe rental.
The Yellow Ribbon Center is trying to raise an additional $10,000 by noon today to receive a $10,000 matching donation from an anonymous donor, said Yellow Ribbon organizer June Izzi-Bailey. Those wishing to donate may call the Yellow Ribbon Center at (513) 752-4310. Information: www.yellowribbonsupportcenter.com.

I'm working from 9 am-8pm that day, so I'm doubting that I will make it for that. But, I'll figure out something to do for it.

The run has been canceled due to rain, below freezing wind chills over 25 MPH and possible snow on the 14th of April.
Thank you Al for letting us know how warm it is.

The run has been rescheduled for May 12.
Registration will begin at 10:00 and we are kickstands up at 12:30. We'll end at East Fork State Park, where the Matt Maupin Pavillion will be dedicated at 3:30. Even if you don't ride, you might want to make the trip for the dedication and enjoy our global warming sunshine.
The weather today was terrible, but we still had 250 or more at the American Legion (Post 72) for Gold Star chili, courtesy of the Withamsville location. East siders might want to stop in and say thanks.
Local media was there, so it might make the news.
