I saw a news story about Michael Vick on Yahoo yesterday and looked at some of the user comments about it. As to be expected, they ranged from Vick being persecuted and being able to walk on water to pure racism. One supporter of Vick's accused another user of being "whitey" and "dumb" and then proceeded to say he didn't know how to spell and then used atrocious grammar himself. I pointed out to him he was displaying his own ignorance of proper grammar and an obvious prejudice himself and then said "Mr Pot meet Mr. Kettle" Then I posted that I didn't think Vick should have gotten any jail time at all. He should have simply been stripped naked, rubbed down with bacon grease and thrown into a pit with the dogs he trained to kill. Today I get a WARNING in my email that I have violated my Yahoo user agreement (without saying HOW) and did not give me a chance to reply. It also said if I violate it again I will lose my Yahoo services. I contacted customer service, told them Screw You! and opened up a Hotmail account. Political Correctness clearly only applies to SOME, not everyone...

I always found the Vick case to be rather disturbing. Granted, the media tries to stoke race relations as best it can. But I mean, OJ was one thing. The Vick case.......the comments I heard, especially on ESPN, were disturbing. I heard so much about how America doesn't understand the "culture" of dog-fighting.

Now I'll grant you, a good portion of white America doesn't seem to want to acknowledge that there are different standards in the criminal justice system (although as I've said many times, I have found those differences to be based more on class than race). But I mean....it's not like white dog-fighters are getting over left and right while black dog-fighters do time.

Plus, Michael Vick was no longer some street hustler trying to make $5K for the weekend. He had a $100M+ contract (and marketing deals). There was nothing that America needed to "understand" about anything. The person who failed to understand was Michael Vick himself.

But the comments I saw on ESPN, and like those GL read....granted, hopefully most of them are from trolls. But I've got to believe a good number of people are genuinely "pro-Vick," and I'm sorry but that is disturbing.

His earnings make his case doubly disturbing to me. I mean it would be bad enough if he had been involved with this sort of barbaric practice simply for the money and he was struggling to get by. By no means would I condone it, but could somewhat better understand his motivation. But the guy had life on a silver platter. He truly turns my stomach and his apologists sicken me even more.

Since you threatened to terminate my account I switched over to MSN for my home page and email. Thank You! What a better arranged, more user friendly web site MSN is. And the quality of "news" stories in the news section makes Yahoo read like a tabloid, and I don't just mean due to Yahoo spelling errors and poor grammar. So thank you for your Nazi tactics for forcing me to find a much better internet service. Keep up the bad work!
