I was doing some research on a deceased friend to see if his killer is up for parole anytime soon, and wandered across my high school alumni's website. 5 people I knew in high school are now deceased. I guess the older we get the more we encounter that. One of the deceased was a girl I had a crush on in jr high. Puts my thinning hairline into a little better perspective.

One of the people on the list had been my locker partner for 2 school years. I thought when I read her name "That can't be true, I just saw her at the mall not that long ago" and then I thought about it and realized "not that long ago" was 1984. 24 yrs ago and it seemed "not that long ago" I have officially crossed the threshhold into old age. I run into old classmates here and there from time to time as a lot of them are still in the greater cincinnati area. Still 2010 will be 25 years since graduation. Then again, there are many who are surprised that I graduated at all

We just went to my husband's class reunion a couple weekends ago. He's had 3 members (out of 83) pass so far. I graduated the year before him and have only lost one. He died at a graduation party just a few weeks after the big day. So sad, he was sitting on the hood of a friend's car and his friend backed up and the guy fell and hit his head. We all felt so bad, he was a nice guy and was to go to college in the fall.
