    Question

I had to stop at Kroger today, and while I was there I saw a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy doing her grocery shopping.

She had on her uniform, gun included. Aside from the fact that I think female cops are wrong on almost every level, seeing her got me to wondering about the rules.

If a cop is off duty, can the cop do personal errands in uniform?

And if she was on duty, who do I call to complain?

Another thing, since maybe somebody knows some cops.

Where there are those horrific smash-em-up accidents that make driving so pleasurable, and someone gets dead, how do they know how to notify the NOK? Today Bob drove to Philadelphia (arrived safely, so no need to worry Sluggo). If something had happened, how would the PTB know to find me at work? Or would I just come home to a blue sedan parked at the curb?

    Inquiring minds and all that...

I wouldn't bother to complain. God knows Cincy cops have it bad enough. Maybe she was just on her way home after work.

Something else to think about - if you make a complaint you risk the backlash of a possibly uppity officer. Before you know it, you're getting 3 speeding tickets in one month and your garbage is no longer picked up. I wouldn't risk rocking the boat.

No, LAKE, it was a Hamiton County Sherrif. Out of jurisdiction.

I was really surprised to see her gun.

Don't know what neighborhood. From 75 S, it's the Mitchell Avenue exit. Kenard is at the north end of Clifton Avenue.

NOW will you answer the questions?

Which is IN Hamilton County, Gae. The sheriff has jurisdiction ANYWHERE in the county. A HCS deputy could give you a ticket in downtown Cincinnati if you comitted a violation.
