Townsend's 45 points lifts Kelloggsville past Godwin Heights

Townsend scored 12 in the overtime period -- including the game-winner with 6.8 seconds remaining -- as Kelloggsville erased a 16-point third-quarter deficit to post the come-from-behind win.

"He earned all of his points," Kelloggsville coach Drew Lakatos said. "He had some big baskets at the end and he had some big baskets throughout. We leaned on him an awful lot tonight, and we'll go as far as Anthony will take us this year."

Junior Ryan Simonson added 18 points, which included five 3-point field goals.

CENTREVILLE 74, ATHENS 25: At Centreville, the hosts led 29-8 after the first quarter and 44-11 at halftime en route to a convincing win.

Centreville got balanced scoring from 11 different players, led by Jon Logan's 16 points and Matt Deemer's 10. Steve Mostrom and Kyle Roach also scored eight points each for the Bulldogs

MATTAWAN 69, OTSEGO 37: At Otsego, Mattawan took advantage of its size and dominated the Bulldogs.

"We had no matchup for their size," Otsego first-year coach Mark Haase said. "We did a decent job of guarding them on the low blocks, but they hit a lot of mid-range shots and got a lot of second shots off rebounds."

Marc Larson led Mattawan with 18 points. Wilbur Ampey had 15 points, Kory Wagonmaker 11 and T.J. Taylor 10 for the Wildcats.

Adam McGuire scored 15 points to lead Otsego, which trailed 34-13 at halftime.

COLDWATER 61, THREE RIVERS 60 (OT): At Coldwater, Three Rivers point guard Shawn Earl hit a long two-point shot with 5.5 seconds to go in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime but Coldwater found a way to win in the extra period.

Earl finished with 13 points for Three Rivers. Yannick Millet led the Wildcats with 16 points, including a 3-pointer at the final buzzer, and Greg Hall added 10.

Coldwater connected on 5 of 6 free-throw attempts in the final 38 seconds of overtime to seal the win.
