Hey all. I recently purchased a set of Nitto 555G2 model rear tires for my 2024 ZL1. The current PSI is at 37 - I ran my stock goodyears at 40PSI. Since the tire replacement it feels like the car pulls to the right and left a lot and I feel any grooves in the road more intensely than I did prior to having the Nittos installed. The front tires are stock goodyear supercar 3s.

Saturday I was on the freeway doing 60MPH when a rice rocket pulled up beside me wanting to race. I down shifted to 3rd gear and floored it. at about 90MPH or so I quickly made a lane change to the left and it felt like someone grabbed hold of the wheel and yanked me over almost 2 lanes and I struggled a bit to get her straightened out. scared the crap out of me.

The car is all stock. I have put almost 10k miles on the car and am very familiar with how it does and should perform. My lane change at that speed was not unusual for me at all.

The Nitto is a harder tire no doubt but, Could this drastic change in handling be related to the tire itself being a different brand/tread pattern? Or could it simply be the tire pressure? The door sticker states 32PSI for the rear tires.

I haven't lowered the tire pressure yet but was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience using a different brand tire.

I only did this as the goodyear supercar 3s are not available anywhere and will not be until March.

I’d drop the rears to around 32–34 PSI cold and see if the tramlining calms down. Some tires follow grooves more, so a small pressure change can help a lot.

I’ve had similar weird wandering after swapping tires, and dropping a couple PSI usually calmed things down. Those Nittos can feel extra sensitive to grooves, so I’d try low‑mid 30s and see if the steering settles a bit.
