Wow, I'm glad I got my "Ruby" before this one sold. It would have driven the price of mine way out of my reach! We pick her up this weekend!

I can't believe the stove sold...i hope the buyer is very satisfied. I understand the value of a pristine unrestored old new stock item but this wasn't it.

Might have been a scam. I'm inclined to agree with TODD.
The buyer is into license plates and other low dollar items. Then "buys" a relatively high dollar item. The seller is also buying and selling low dollar items.
I emailed him what I considered a reasonable offer and the response was "the stove will sell for $2850". At that time there were NO bids and the opening bid was $2874.
Though I don't know why anyone would do this it just don't add up.

This thing does seem really fishy. Maybe he had his mom buy it at the last minute just to make it seem as if it "sold."
