1) Mum, The books are a series called The First Americans, by William Sarabande. Book 1 is Beyond the Sea of Ice, book 2 is Corridors of Storms.
They remind me of the Children of The Earth series by Jean Auel. Her first book was Clan of the Cave bear.
I would reccomend ether series as a very well written and entertaining books...Just coz I can
