I was called a bad mother

yes, yes I was. Today I was told I was a bad mother, who babied her children and hid them from the real world. Because I refuse to sit my children at age 6 and 10 , in front of the tv and make them watch the war footage. If they want to watch, they can watch, but I'm NOT going subject my children to something that could traumatize them for life. They know about the war, they know that people are dying. At that age they dont need to SEE it... OMG, I'm just steaming. I have tears I'm so mad.. I AM NOT A BAD MOTHER!

this person obviously didn't know you or have a clue about who you are or anything about your life. It's never easy to hear someone say something like that though. I'd be steaming too. Hell I don't like watching the war stuff, why would I let my child sit and watch clip after clip of it. They have to grow up so fast as it is. Yes my oldest knows bout the war, my youngest, I really don't think he does, but he could surprise me *L* He's usually in his own lil world anyway.

There is such a thing as too much information, the very first day of the war our oldest with look of fear in his eyes asked if they were going to bomb here. How do you try to reassure a child about such things?
