Sunday Morning in Orange County

Whew!!! Thanks to some friends that work for the County, I?ve been fortunate to attend these last two games at Edison Field. Now, as someone whose spent my entire life playing the games and watching the games let me tell you that the electricity at the stadium has been overwhelming. The 8th inning yesterday will be forever engraved in my mind's eye and hopefully this afternoon the demons from ?82? and ?86? will be exorcised.

I think all true Angel fans, like my good friend Morbius, can relate to the nervous undercurrent surrounding today?s game. The player?s would like to go all the way and let Gene smile down upon them and maybe, even Donny.

The Angel?s World Series match-up would be great with the Giants or the Cards. For us Californian?s, a battle between the North and the South just seems SO RIGHT. However, a date with St. Louis for the BIG SHOW would be like an Angel?s alumni series with long-time friends and ex-teammates thrown into the arena. I can?t imagine the baseball gods allowing another World Series game to be played in the Metrodome?..the worst baseball park on the planet.

I?ll be thinking of you today Mr. C, and wish you were there too. Hope you are feeling better and let?s shoot for a get together during your upcoming time off. I?ll call ya on Monday?if I have any voice left.

Whatever happens in the series the most satisfying thing is being able to say that at least once they made it to the big show.

A less than a 20 TV share means most of the country missed a really good series. That's OK. We don't like any of you guys either.

Yep--I've heard several reporters say that it was some of the best baseball no one was seeing (or something like that). My husband refused to watch because the Twinkies weren't in it, but we did watch bits and pieces.

Actually, I was glad to see the Angels win--especially the last game--that was way cool [img]smile.gif[/img]

They done good bk thanks for the thumbs up. (prolly screwed the imodicon thing up) Gonna have to find another underdog to root for now. Think I'll throw in with the Flintster and help the Rangers (theretofor Raggers) get their money out of A-Rod.
