THE FINGERPRINT OF GOD

I had someone ask me once
What would be the easiest job?
With Just A Bit Of Thought I Replied
Finding The Fingerprint Of God

There Was Laughter And Chuckles
Even A Giggle Or Two
Now Roger, That's Not A Job
That A Mortal Man Can Do

I Had To Disagree
And I Told Them To Thier Face
That This Job Would Be Simple
Because His Imprint Is Every Place

Remember The Winter Two Years Back
When It Snowed So Much
Billions Of Snowflakes
Each Carved With The Master's Hand

Or What About Last Spring
When It Rained For Day's
Then The Sun Came Out
And Rainbow Colors Were On Display

Then There Are The Early Morning Sun Rises
The Sky Colored With Neon Hues
This Doesn't Even Begin To Show
The Magic Our Lord Can Do

I Especially See It Here Now
In This Crowded Little Place
Because I Can See His Fingerprint
Etched Upon Each And Every Face

This poem was written for a friend on the birth of her daughter. I dedicate this to all the Mommies.

DARLING GIRL

Oh my darling girl
You are a treasure to me
These are tears of joy
On my face that you see

I take you in my arms
Holding your body tight
I sing you to sleep
But I hate to say goodnight

When the morning comes
And the sunlight peeks through
I drink in the beauty
That I see in you

All the money in the world
Could not purchase your smile
Or the thrill you give me
when you want to be held for a while

You are my princess
My angel sent from above
You are the little girl
Who gets all of mommy"s love

After reading about all the recent shark attacks, I put crayon to paper and wrote this 'un.

Shark Attack

There is a shark swimming in the ocean
And he is of the notion
That It is about time to eat
Ah, look at all those splashing feet

Sharks are not the type to be pushy
But a holiday beach means human sushi
We see the beach as fun in the sun
Sharks see a man sandwich, Hold the bun

Knee deep in water, you think your outa reach
But with a flick of his tail, He owns the beach
White meat, dark meat, Its all just a snack
When you get eaten in a shark attack

I have another talent, but I can't show ya on the computer...I can write backwards, well actually print. I use to work at a Record store and had to write with a marker on the inside glass about new releases and sales and stuff and got pretty good at writing backwards....I'd probably get the gong for that talent, eh? (obscure reference to the gong show)
