And once again, the USA Society I belong to hasn't planned anything. I think I'll quit that university club, because I'm in it for the parties and their Thanksgiving celebrations are always boring and the food is-- well, not good.
I'm writing a few articles for a halloween special for my graduation work at the school of Journalism. Anyone have any good ideas? I have these so far:
- Costumes that are in bad taste (e.g. suicide bomber)
- Baltimore's "no candy" sign for pedophiles
- People spending more on Halloween every year (at least over here)
Those are the most newsy ideas. Other than that I came up with Martha Stewarty articles that won't score me any points with the journalist who'll grade my work in a few weeks.

We are spending more on Halloween here as well...now I hear talk of our gasoline prices hitting $5 a gallon if crude goes over $100 a barrel and I can guarantee that it will choke a lot of families and spending will be way off for the rest of the Holidays.

Hmmmm how about a story on urban legends regarding Halloween? Or how about how much Halloween candy will be imported from China and whether or not it will contain lead poisoning? ...just kidding kind of...

The only thing I dislike about Halloween is that we get no trick-or-treaters ever because we are on a huge farm in the middle of nowhere so typically people stay away unless we have a party, and I am still being reminded by my MIL about last years fiasco. Hey CG!

Ooh, I love Urban Legends. Unfortunately, spooky Urban Legends are typically restricted to teh English-speaking world. Don't know why. Maybe because Halloween hasn't existed here for centuries. It's back in swing since the late nineties.
The Urban Legends we have (might interest you to know we call them "Monkey Sandwich stories") are mostly about unbelievable events a la Mythbusters. Or about sex. We do have dirty minds over here and are not afraid to share it.
