irc

I can not for the life of me use IRC. Granted I am a newbie but its just not working no matter how many guides I follow. The main problem is that I can't connect to a server. At least not the one I need to connect to. Can anyone help me?

I am also confused on the IRC. I've looked around
to find the programs you need to download, but honest I havent been able to find any for my area, so I'm not sure if that matters. Plus I'm not sure about cost, I already pay for AOL. and my husband isnt going to want to change, I know. Not for downloading scans. I guess my question is(And if anyone can help) how much $$ is the IRC and is it hard to download and install on one's computer?

It should not, in any way, interfere with your browser (save firewall settings). It costs nothing, unless you want to register (recommended that you do tho).

Which server are you trying to connect to (assuming that you can connect to other servers)? irc.mircx.com is dead...
