Ok, so all you guys are nerd, geeks, dorks, etc. at least as much as I am, and in some cases more so *cough* Ben *cough*. So I was wondering who here plays or is interested in playing DnD? I have been working on my own world with boat loads (and boats) of custom/house rules in a fairly unique setting. If anyone is interested and can play (fairly) regularly, let me know.
Right now, its just me and one of my buddies from college... not much of a play group.
If you want to know more about my rules/setting hit me up, I'm always happy to nerd it up about DnD!

Already in 2 campaigns currently. An Ogre Barbarian/Necromancer and a G-nomish Sorceror of Doom and Destruction. Hard enough to find time already.

Ok, so here is a little introduction to what I have in mind. Let me know if it tickles your fancy.
Its fall in Port Lazlo and a cool tropical breeze sweeps through the city street. The market in the central square is just getting setup. Some vendors are hoping to get home in the North before winter, others unloading some of their goods before a plesant journey south durring the cooler winter months. Merchants from far off lands eagerly await the arrival of the Ashwolf Tribe hunters and their chance at purchasing some of the precious ashwolf hides.
Once each year the Ashwolf Tribe gathers their surplus from the hunting season and travels to Port Lazlo. This practice has attracted many merchants hoping to purchase the hides and many more merchants hoping to simply profit off the masses of people who come to Port Lazlo at this time of year. This year is no exception, the streets are crawling with merchants looking to make a quick mark, selling everything from fresh apples to metal tools. If an item has a use and it doesn't cost more marks than you can carry. You will find it in the market of Port Lazlo.
A clipper ship from Ysael City arrives at the Port Lazlo docks shortly after dawn carrying a runner with a message for Ambassador Elsevier. The young man leaps off the vessel and darts past the dock hands, toward the government district, not waiting even a moment for the ship to come to a complete dock. "Ambassador, ambassador! I have an urgent message for you! Ambassador!" He shouts. The boy knows that Elsevier spends his mornings in the garden outside of his accomodations in Port Lazlo and the boy is correct.
Elsevier raises his eyes without moving his head from his notes to see the commotion. He instantly recognizes the boy, "Sammuel, what is it, lad? Here, sit next to me and tell me what could be so urgent as this."
Sammuel sits as instructed and takes just a moment to catch his breath before speaking again. "The school... at the commencement ceremony, The School of Azure collapsed upon magi, students, and civilians alike." The boy takes a deep breath. "Then, yesterday, The School of Ruby suffered the same fate, m'lord."
Neither Elsevier or the boy-runner, Sammuel, knew that a second ship had docked shortly after the clipper. This ship was also from Ysael City, but it was not a political transport. The black corsair ship was an assassin ship from The School of Obsidian, only it did not carry students from the school, this ship carried members of a new order, members of the Covenent of the White. Two men dressed in white and black rodes, sporting stoic white masks followed the boy's path right to Elsevier.
Noticing the two masked men, Elsevier rises to his feet quickly, using his ancient staff, Esa'Lash, as a prop. One of the two masked men hisses at Elsevier, "Leave the boy with us, High Priest. We have no business with you."
"No, you know the laws, the moment he landed in Port Lazlo, Sammuel was under my protection, my jurisdiction."
"Our orders are signed by the King himself. Your jurisdiction is meaningless now. Surrender the boy... Now!"
Elsevier sighs, "So be it, but I invoke my right to oversee his safe return and his trial. No harm can come to him and no sentence will befall him until the trial is over. I require two hours to finalize my business here and leave my page to my duties. Return to your ship, we will meet you there at that time."
The two men agree and return to their ship. Elsevier escorts Sammuel to an office in the keep where his page is studying trade agreements. The page stands up in greeting to his mentor. "Be seated, son, we have not time for plesantries. Events ave been set in motions that could have dire concequences and I must return to Ysael to discover the truth. Oh, Sammuel, sit, eat something, then you must tell me all that you know." Elsevier begins sifting through masses of books and scrolls while Sammuel and the page sit silent, unsure of what is about to happen.
"I must return to Ysael with Sammuel to do what I can to protect his life, I fear your life may also be in danger. Go to the market and seek out Baaleff, the Ashwolf Tribe Huntmaster, he is an old friend of mine and will gladly aid us in this. Give him this letter." Elsevier hands the page a hastily written letter in the language of the Ashwolf Tribe.
