What does everyone think of the new Legacy deck "Hulk Flash" and ALL the hype about it? The decklist is posted at the end. Personally, I think it's another flash-in-the-pan Legacy idea because if it DOES work and can consistantly win on turn 0.5 or 1.5, one or all of the combo pieces will be banned right quick. Either that or they will re-errata the un-errata on flash. You can also run it with ravager and ornithopter/shield sphere if the X cost artifact creatures (p.marauder and s.wall) aren't available to you, but that allows a response by your oponnent. I think it's intriguing, but I've never been a big fan of combo in tourney decks - It just feels like cheating ... like Legacy Goblins.
Decklist:
"Hulk Flash"
The Engine:
4 Flash
4 Protean Hulk
4 Phyrexian Marauder
4 Shifting Wall
4 Disciple of the Vault
The Search:
4 Worldly Tutor
4 Mystical Tutor
3 Brainstorm
The Acceleration:
4 Lotus Petal
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Simian Spirit Guide
The Prevention:
4 Daze
4 Force of Will
1 Chain of Vapor
The Land:
4 Gemstone Caverns
4 Island

Now that's a neat deck. What a novel concept. I'd like to know if it performs consistantly. Well, since goblins feel like cheating (and I agree here) then one can fight fire with fire.

OK. I get the concept with all of the free mana sources on turn 0.5 to get out the Protean Hulk, but how do you kill the Protean Hulk, and how do you sac all of the artifacts without a Ravager piece?

Now I get it. That combo is pretty gay.
What is the errata/unerratta for Flash?

You flash out the protean hulk. Because you don't pay it's cost (reduced by 2) you have to sacrifice. When it hits the yard, you pull all 4 disciples and all of the XCC artifacts. Those all come into play at the same time. Because no cost was paid for them, the XCC's die. Those trigger the 4 disciples for a mass amount of damage.
If you get a Gemstone Cavern, a Flash, a Hulk, and either spirit guide in your opening hand, you can win right then.

It's funny, most of this decks parts weren't worth shit a month ago. Looking around now, a lot of them had a major price jerk. Star City wants like $7 for Protean Hulks!

stupid arron, got to explaining the deck by the time I got it posted. but yeah, I would assume the once $2 hulk would go up once people found a decent use for it.

It DID have eratta that made you pay the CC of the hulk -2 colorless else it never hit play, didn't trigger, etc. This has been removed by wizards. I STILL think this is very vulnerable to disruption, but a god hand for them is G.G. before you even get to play a card. I think everyone is saying it's about 10-20% of the time. Duress, needle, FOW, chalice at 1 (stops tutors) ... all can disrupt it enough. I think it's going to FORCE the format to use EVEN MORE mana acceleration to deal with it though.
